Five people have been charged after police raided properties in Kilsyth, North Lanarkshire, and recovered cannabis and over £30,000 in cash.

Community Officers in Cumbernauld executed search warrants at a number of addresses in the area on Thursday, January 17.

A quantity of cannabis with a value of £1,300, and £30,870 cash were recovered.

A 42-year-old woman, 37-year-old man, 35-year-old woman, 30-year-old man, and 24-year-old woman were charged in connection with drug offences and the Proceeds of Crime Act.

A police spokesperson said: “Reports will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal in due course.

“We encourage people to report drug-related issues to police via 101.”
