A Highlands bakery has been named the “best artisan bakery” in Scotland.

All across Scotland, there are countless bakers serving up all kinds of homemade treats. From staples such as sourdough and croissants to local favourites like butteries and clootie dumplings, there is something for everyone no matter where you are in the country.

The Times recently published a list of “five of the best artisan bakeries in Scotland”. Coming in at number one is the Bad Girl Bakery in Inverness.

Situated in the city’s Victorian Market, the Bad Girl Bakery is run by Jeni Lannetta. Its speciality is cakes, which are home-baked and made with natural colours and flavours.

The Bad Girl Bakery also operates a cooking school and YouTube channel, where Lannetta shares recipes and tips. She has also published a cookbook that features a variety of cakes, bakes, and biscuits.

The Times wrote: “This is the star attraction at the food and drink hall in the new Victorian Market in Inverness. Jeni Iannetta is the bad girl plying us with irresistible carbs and sugars, while not busy running baking classes and crafting tempting treats for the recipe of the week in Alba.”
