Prince Harry and Meghan Markle “really get into it in a big way” during their arguments, according to a Kensington Palace aide.
Royal expert Tom Quinn revealed his private discussions with a Palace insider, who divulged details of heated disputes between the Sussexes, as well as insights into the private lives of Prince William and Kate Middleton.
The royal author, known for his book ‘Gilded Youth: An Intimate History of Growing Up in the Royal Family’, shared his findings in detail.
He stated: “Someone who worked for Kensington Palace told me they [William and Kate] do have rows. It’s not a perfect marriage. They have terrific rows.”
Speaking to the Express US, Quinn then disclosed the unique method by which William and Kate resolve their disagreements, explaining “where some couples have a row and throw heavy vases at each other, William and Kate throw cushions at each other. It’s always kept under control. It doesn’t escalate. The fight doesn’t get bigger and bigger.”
However, a source close to Harry and Meghan has painted a different picture. They revealed: “When Harry and Meghan fight, they both really get into it in a big way.”
Quinn attributes the contrasting approach of William and Kate to the enduring legacy of the late Queen.
He explained that Queen Elizabeth II lived by her mantra “never complain, never explain,” a philosophy that William and Kate have adopted in their own lives, while Harry and Meghan have charted their own course away from The Firm.
Quinn elaborated on his perspective, stating “because William adopts the manners and ways of behaving of his grandmother and Kate is very good at not complaining, both of them have stuck to the thing that made Queen Elizabeth II such a remarkable monarch.”
He continued his praise for The Prince and Princess of Wales, noting how “they very rarely complain and when they do it’s always in measured terms.”
He also suggested that it is easier for William and Kate to navigate any conflict due to their private nature, thus avoiding the intense “scrutiny” faced by Harry and Meghan, making them “less picked apart than Harry and Meghan.”
Despite stepping back from their royal duties in 2020, Harry and Meghan’s public roles have only expanded since then, following a series of profitable agreements including tell-all books, and multi-million pound deals with streaming behemoths Netflix and Spotify.
