Two men have been arrested following a series of drug raids across Scotland. The 28 and 29-year-old were detained following operations in West Calder, Falkirk, Livingston and Edinburgh.

They have been charged in connection with drugs offences across three different police divisions in Scotland. Yesterday, Monday, January 20, 2025, two warrants were executed in Falkirk.

The raids saw the suspects being arrested in connection with serious and organised crime. They have been charged and were due to appear at Livingston Sheriff Court today,Tuesday, January 21, 2025.

Police Scotland said large scale cannabis cultivations were discovered in the raids in the locations in question, which took place between September 2022 and this month.

The force said the cannabis cultivations have an estimated street value of £3.6 million. As part of the enforcement action, £12,000 in cash was recovered, as was cannabis worth £80,000.

Detective Sergeant John Irvine said: “We remain committed to targeting those involved in serious and organised crime in Scotland as we recognise the impact this has on our local communities.

Disrupting large-scale cannabis cultivations prevents illegal drugs being circulated on our streets. This action reiterates our commitment to the Serious Organised Crime Taskforce and the country’s Serious Organised Crime Strategy.

“Information from the public is absolutely crucial to our work and we ask anyone with knowledge about drugs activity in their area to call Police Scotland on 101.”

The force also said that crime-fighting charity Crimestoppers can be contacted by anyone with information, and that anonymity can be maintained, by calling 0800 555 111.
