*Warning – this article contains spoilers for tonight’s (Wednesday 22 January) episode of The Traitors*

Fans of The Traitors were left gobsmacked as a beloved contestant was sent packing from the castle.

In the gripping instalment aired on Wednesday (January 22), the stakes were sky-high as the contestants faced the final murder. Joe became the last casualty, betrayed by steadfast Traitor Minah and the recently recruited Traitor Charlotte.

Yet, during the routine roundtable where suspicions are voiced about who might be a Traitor, Minah found herself on the receiving end of the majority vote.

It was a twist of fate that saw her banished, with Traitor Charlotte delivering the decisive vote. Viewers watching the BBC series expressed their shock and dismay at Minah’s departure, reports Wales Online.

On X, formerly known as Twitter, a viewer lamented: “We lost the best British Traitor ever because she trusted a woman with a fake Welsh accent.”

Another shared their lack of interest in continuing with the show, saying: “Minah is gone. No point in watching anymore. She carried the whole show.”

A third admired Minah’s strategy: “Regardless of the result, Minah is by far the best Traitor this show has seen. NO suspicion whatsoever until this week. NEVER threw any of her fellow Traitors under the bus, and protected Linda until she no longer could. She deserved that money.”

Another fan simply stated: “Seething that Minah’s gone from the Traitors.” Another TV enthusiast expressed their letdown on social media, stating: “Wanted the Traitors to win when Minah was there, but honestly now I ain’t rooting for any of them.” (sic)

On Ed Gamble’s Uncloaked podcast, Minah offered insights into her strategy and choice of Charlotte as a Traitor, saying: “Now, looking back, I should’ve picked Lisa. Because Linda was out […] but I thought she would rather get murdered than accept and I didn’t want to put anyone out of the game in that way.

“And then I thought I could have picked Frankie but again, similar reasons, I just didn’t think Frankie was built to be a Traitor. I think if I’d have known Leanne was in the army, I would have picked her but she always seemed very worried to me.”

Reflecting on the show, Minah also observed: “I had accused Charlotte on the second roundtable and she had proved her faithfulness,” and acknowledged her miscalculation by adding: “So in my head I was like she is the only female who had proven to everybody that she is 100% faithful.”

Minah divulged her thoughts on Charlotte’s potential reaction to being recruited, stating: “Therefore, surely she’ll think of [being recruited] as ‘I wanna win with her’ but obviously because I had accused her, looking back at it now she was [probably thinking], ‘I do not trust you!'”

The game took another turn as Charlotte decided to bring Freddie into the fold as a fellow Traitor before the finale set for Friday (January 24).

The Traitors continues on Thursday night at 9pm on BBC One and BBC iPlayer.
