A huge fire has broken out at a premises in Aberdeen this morning, with firefighters working to bring it under control.
The alarm was raised at around 8am on Wednesday, January 22, with crews deployed to the scene in Merkland Road East, near Aberdeen Football Club’s Pittodrie ground. The blaze is believed to be within a vehicle repair garage.
Flames can be seen spreading through the building as black smoke billows into the sky, which was visible across the city.

The Scottish Fire and Rescue Service confirmed it was in attendance, and deployed six fire appliances to tackle the blaze. Officers from Police Scotland are also in attendance, and have been contacted for comment.
It comes less than two days after a fire took hold on the 12th floor of a tower block just a mile away, which left seven people injured.
