A memorial event is set to take place this weekend in memory of the young man who was killed in a Paisley disturbance.
Robert McNally died after being found seriously injured on Maree Road following reports of a incident involving fireworks around 4.15pm on Saturday.
And he will be remembered this Sunday after a group of friends organised a balloon and lantern release.
Sharing the event details on Facebook, a close friend has organised the release to take place at 5pm at the football pitches at the top of Brediland Road where people are being invited to “share their respects”.
Tributes have been laid outside a property on Brediland Road where the Paisley Daily Express understands Robert lived.
Flowers have been laid on the pavement alongside messages with one reading: “Forever 21 Robert. You will be sadly missed. Can not believe this has happened. Shine bright up there bro.”
Signed Celtic tops, bottles of alcohol and balloons have also been laid in Robert’s name. A graffiti tribute reading, ‘RIP Rab. forever 21’ has also been painted onto a wall of a substation on Esk Drive near to Brediland Road.
Robert’s heartbroken girlfriend also posted a tribute to the 21-year-old. In a post on social media, Angel White said he would “do anything” for the people he cared about.
Angel wrote: “Robert darling. Our relationship wasn’t perfect, you were the most hot headed, craziest boy I have ever met. But there wasn’t anything you wouldn’t do for the people you cared about and that’s what I loved about you.
“You’ve been taken away from us all so sudden and far too early but I feel lucky to say I got to spend the last few months of your life by your side and I’m really going to miss you. I’ll always hold a place for you in my heart Robert, forever.”
Alongside the post, Angel shared a number of pictures of the pair together including a screenshot of a message sent from Robert on Hogmanay saying, “love you darling”.
Meanwhile, his cousin Nicole Adam said her “heart is broken into a million pieces” and added: “It’s killing me every second I think of you, and thinking how you were feeling tonight.”
Others paid tribute to Robert online with Kellsie Robertson describing him as “such a good person to be around” while another woman wrote: “Absolutely gutted and devastated, can’t believe it.
“You’ll defo never be forgotten and missed even more. Defo left everyone devastated. Just can’t get my head around it.”
Evan Michael Wilkie wrote: “Rest in peace brother. You will be missed forever ma man. Hope you’re having a ball up there Rab ma boy”, while Daniel Davidson added: “RIP Bro forever 21. Taken far too soon.”
Police are continuing their enquiries to establish the full set of circumstances surrounding the incident.
Detective inspector from Police Scotland Euan McMillan said: “My thoughts remain with the deceased’s family and friends, and we continue to offer them support at this time.
“There is no risk to the wider public, however, we will continue to have a police presence in the area and anyone with any concerns can approach these officers.
“Our enquiries continue to establish the full circumstances of this incident and I would appeal to anyone who has any video footage around the time, including from phones, CCTV or dash-cams, to please contact police.
“In addition, any witnesses or anyone who has any additional information which may assist, we ask that you come forward.”
