A woman has revealed that she allows her boyfriend to sleep with other men while they are in a relationship. Renn and Durden, who both identify as bisexual, have faced online death threats due to their open relationship, which permits them to see and sleep with others outside of their partnership.
Renn confessed that she had “always known” about her bisexuality, but felt that people often deny the existence of bisexual men. She said many assume Durden must “be gay” if he also likes men, which is a notion she firmly refutes.
The couple, who featured on Love Don’t Judge, met on Tinder. Durden initially thought Renn was out of his league, describing her as “looked really sweet and genuine.”
However, Renn admitted her initial intention was to “hit it and quit it” as she wasn’t seeking a relationship. Despite this, the pair clicked and began dating.
Durden came out as bisexual one and a half years into their relationship, a suggestion first made by Renn. “That was what led us to be in an open relationship,” Renn disclosed, adding that they enjoy “experiences with single men and women” and appreciate the “freedom to explore that”.
She revealed that she “never gets judgement for being a bi woman,” but he is often criticised for being a bi man, with many suggesting their “relationship is a joke” and that Durden must “be gay”.
Despite the negativity, they “brush the comments off,” understanding that the critics are “not happy with their own lives,” although Durden admitted it could be tougher on an “off day” or when he’s feeling introspective.
Interestingly, Durden shared that he doesn’t face public ridicule when he wears items like crop tops and short shorts – the criticism is solely “online”.
The couple explained that it took them about three years to establish their boundaries and understand what was acceptable within their relationship. Once they overcame “insecurities” and “jealousy”, they found the experience could be enjoyable for both of them.
To keep their marriage exciting, they attend “hotel takeovers”, which are three to four-day parties where attendees can be “free and authentic”. These events feature “playrooms” where they can explore their sexuality with others.
During the video, they visited Renn’s mother, who confessed she had some concerns about their relationship and how others might perceive it.
However, she expressed her belief “in the power of self-expression fully” and insisted they should live life on their own terms. She expressed happiness that her daughter had found someone “so accepting”.
The couple revealed that they envisage living “this lifestyle” well into their 60s or 70s and can’t see a future where they’re not part of “in the community”.
In the comments section, one individual expressed preferring to “be like this” rather than have a partner who does it “on the down low”.
One commenter shrugged off critics, saying, “As long as they are honest and safe about it who cares,” while another was less forgiving, ranting: “I don’t know why people only judge bi men; I mean, there are bi women out there with other women and men, but still, people have so many negative feelings towards bi men”.
