Steven Hazell owns a plow truck, he traveled all the way down to New Orleans to help clear streets.

NEW ORLEANS — The question we’re asking is when do you remember seeing this much snow on roads across Southeast Louisiana? And when have you ever seen a snow plow plowing streets? Well, that’s happening right now across New Orleans. A Mid-West man could be one of these unsung heroes helping us get our roadways clear.

Steven Hazell owns a plow truck, he said, “Yeah came down, figured you guys got 8 inches of snow and probably needed some of that cleared out.”

The thing is he lives 13 hours away, “It’s crazy the fact that everything down here is shut down, it’s pretty wild.”

For 13 hours Hazell drove, he drove straight here, to New Orleans, with him, his snow plow—a contraption we don’t see often in South East Louisiana.

“I guess out of the goodness of my heart,” he said he came out here, plus make a little money he said.

He says he came to lend a helping hand, where he’s from in Ohio, he says snow like this is a common sight. Except he says, their infrastructure he says is built for extreme cold, whilst ours isn’t.

“I am surprised the city didn’t do more to clear these roads, it’s pretty rough around here,” he said.

And that’s simply why he’s here, to help ensure our roads are safe and clear.

“It’s stress you know I have been stuck in the snow before, I grew up in Colorado,” Hazell said. “People legitimately need the services right now there’s probably people without heat, I mean it’s dangerous, it’s legitimately dangerous.”
