AUSTIN, Texas — Want to help the community and satisfy your sweet tooth at the same time? We Are Blood is offering the perfect trade-off.
If you donate blood at any of We Are Blood’s donor centers or mobile drives during the month of February, you can take home a box of Girl Scout cookies, while supplies last.
We Are Blood has boxes of Thin Mints, Peanut Butter Sandwiches, Caramel DeLites and Adventurefuls available to hand out to donors. The partnership will benefit Girl Scouts of Central Texas troops.
“Through their partnership with Girl Scouts of Central Texas, We Are Blood is doing more than incentivizing critical blood donations with some of our country’s favorite sweet treats,” said Paula Bookidis, CEO of Girl Scouts of Central Texas. “They are also helping us bring Girl Scouting directly into local Title I schools, reaching students and families who otherwise would not have access to Girl Scouts. This partnership makes the Greater Austin community stronger.”
Following the holiday season and winter weather closures, We Are Blood is in need of donations, especially from Type O positive and O negative donors. Though Type O is most needed, all blood and platelet donations are in high demand, the organization said.
“We Are Blood is proud to partner with Girl Scouts of Central Texas to inspire lifesaving donations this February,” said Nick Canedo, vice president of community engagement at We Are Blood. “Every donation made will help patients at local hospitals and bring Girl Scouting to communities across Central Texas.”
