A fresh appeal has been made on the birthday of a missing woman last seen on a Scots island as officers up their search.
Clair Halliday from the Isle of Mull has been missing since Tuesday, January 7. As search and enquiries continue in the area, Police Scotland have today pleaded for help on her 36th birthday (Thursday, January 23).
This comes as the force have stepped up their search to trace the woman, who was last spotted in the Fionnphort area. Local officers are being assisted by partner agencies and specialist resources, including police dogs, the marine unit and the air support unit, to bring her home to her family.
She is described as 5ft 4ins and of slim build with shoulder-length, brown hair. When last seen she was wearing a white jacket with a cream-coloured hood or hat and white trousers.
Inspector Matthew Shaw said: “Today is Claire’s 36th birthday and there is nothing more we want than for her to be found and reunited with family. Her family is understandably extremely upset about her being missing and not knowing where she is.
“Unfortunately, despite significant enquiries and extensive searches, she has not been seen or heard from since she was last seen in the Fionnphort area on Tuesday, 7 January, 2025. I would again urge anyone who was been in the local area or anyone who has any information, no matter how small it may seem, to please get in touch with us.”
