An expert has revealed what Donald Trump’s family were really talking about – as their loved one was targeted by a Bishop over his stance on LGBTQ+ and immigrants. The lip reading expert has managed to decipher the conversations they had while Bishop Mariann Budde was preaching.

The Mirror reports she appeared to take a jab at Trump’s policies, telling the 78-year-old to “have mercy upon the people in our country who are scared now” as his family watched on from the benches of Washington National Cathedral during an interfaith prayer service yesterday.

A stone-faced Trump was caught on TV cameras listening to the Bishop tell him the world order “as we know it is now over” – and that people “face a world of hard competition”. But the group were especially taken aback when Budde said some people’s “hopes and dreams” would have been lost with the new presidential term.

According to forensic lip reader Jeremy Freeman, Trump’s daughter Tiffany turned to her husband Michael Boulos and said: “Can you believe it?” Her older brother Don Jr was seen chatting to someone out of frame for a while after saying: “I can’t believe it, no”. When Budde spoke about hard-working migrants who clean restaurant kitchens and pick crops, Tiffany spoke to her husband.

Freeman claims she said: “This [is] crazy” and Boulos replied by shaking his head. She then turned to him again and said the words: “Good and evil.” Bishop Budde then mentioned “saying and doing things we might regret”, before Trump turned to Melania and said: “Can you believe it?” causing her to smile, MailOnline reports.

Budde said to Trump in her speech: “They may not be citizens or have the proper documentation – but the vast majority… are not criminals. They pay taxes and are good neighbours, they are faithful members of our churches and mosques, synagogues and temples.

“I ask you to have mercy, Mr President, on those in our communities whose children fear that their parents will be taken away, and that you help those who are fleeing warzones and persecution in their own lands to find compassion and welcome here,” she said. It comes after body language expert Judi James said there were clear signs of “group or herd responses” from Trump’s family.

She said: “Ivanka and Lara look like the first two on the benches behind Trump to smell a problem brewing. Don Jr has a poker face with his chin raised and Eric’s pursed, puckered facial expression doesn’t seem to register concern or to change at all. But then even Don Jr glances to the side and Tiffany looks at her husband in a tie-sign that hints at some embarrassment or awkwardness.

“Lara looks like the most politically aware of the family group. She manages to sustain a stoic part-smile but her frequent eye-flick glances to Trump suggest she’s wanting to tune into his reaction and display loyalty.” Speaking on his platform Truth Social, Trump said: “The so-called Bishop who spoke at the National Prayer Service on Tuesday morning was a Radical Left hard line Trump hater.

“She brought her church into the World of politics in a very ungracious way. She was nasty in tone, and not compelling or smart. She failed to mention the large number of illegal migrants that came into our Country and killed people. Many were deposited from jails and mental institutions. It is a giant crime wave that is taking place in the USA.”

He added the service was “very boring and uninspiring”. The President – who has become the first President to ever hold the position after being convicted of a criminal offence – said of Budde: “She is not very good at her job! She and her church owe the public an apology!”
