A man has appeared in the dock charged with a weapon offence following a disturbance at a Scots hotel.
Thomas Scott, 39, from Cambuslang, is accused of carrying an offensive weapon in a public place in connection with an incident understood to have taken place at the Ramada Hotel, in East Kilbride, in the early hours of Monday, January 20.
He made no plea or declaration when he appeared on petition in private at Hamilton Sheriff Court the following day.
The case was committed for further examination and Scott was granted bail pending his next appearance.
Police were alerted to an alleged disturbance in the town centre at around 4.45am.
A 39-year-old man was arrested and charged in connection with the incident.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “We received a report of a disturbance in the Cornwall Street area of East Kilbride, around 4.45am on Monday, January 20.
“A 39-year-old man has been arrested and charged in connection. He is due to appear at Hamilton Sheriff Court on Tuesday, January 21.”
