Ayrshire’s higher education institutions have all announced they will close tomorrow (Friday) as the county braces itself for the arrival of Storm Éowyn.
A rare red weather warning was issued by the Met Office for Friday, January 24, as the storm is forecast to bring winds as high 100mph along the Ayrshire coast.
The warning is in force from 10am until 5pm.
Ayrshire College’s campuses in Kilmarnock, Ayr and Kilwinning as well as the University of the West of Scotland and SRUC campuses in Ayr are all closed tomorrow.
The move follows similar decisions by North Ayrshire, East Ayrshire and South Ayrshire Council to close schools and nurseries in the region.
