Kate Middleton and Prince William are reportedly seeking to sidestep “future controversies” by maintaining a distance from Meghan Markle.
The Duchess of Sussex is poised to launch her new Netflix show in March, which will offer cooking and lifestyle advice to viewers.
However, the series has already sparked criticism, leading some to speculate that it may be cancelled before its premiere. Meghan and Prince Harry have faced numerous damning allegations from former staff members, with some labelling the ex-Suits actress as “difficult.”
Now, royal commentator Hilary Fordwich suggests that Kate and William are “glad to retain a distance from Meghan” due to these scandals.
“Stability and service are paramount to the couple as they anticipate their lives being dedicated to both. There isn’t anything furthering either of those values in Meghan Markle and Prince Harry’s deal with Netflix,” Fordwich opined.
Speaking to Fox News, she claimed that Kate and William are opting to disregard Meghan’s forthcoming Netflix show, titled With Love, Meghan, and instead concentrate on their family.
Since the Princess of Wales was diagnosed with cancer last year, Kate and William have prioritised their loved ones. She is now in remission, having finished her chemotherapy treatment in September, reports the Mirror US.
Fordwich hinted that in addition to their own struggles, they would also be standing by King Charles, who is currently receiving treatment for an undisclosed form of cancer.
“For the Royal family, this further reinforces Prince William’s instincts to maintain a distance from the couple,” the royal commentator suggested.
The latest controversy surrounding Harry and Meghan stems from a shocking report in Vanity Fair. The publication interviewed a former Spotify employee who collaborated with Meghan on her Archetypes podcast.
They claimed that numerous ex-staff members required “long-term therapy” following their interactions with the former actress, describing her as “really, really, really awful” and calling it “painful” to work with her.
“She’s constantly playing checkers – I’m not even going to say chess – but she’s just very aware of where everybody is on her board. And when you are not in, you are to be thrown to the wolves at any given moment,” the source alleged.
The report also implied that Meghan had contemplated writing a post-divorce book in the event she ever splits from Harry. A source claimed to the publication that Meghan’s meeting with a publisher did not signify an impending divorce from Harry.
Instead, they maintained that the purpose was simply to gauge the publisher’s hypothetical interest. The publisher never extended an offer, according to the claims.
