PHOENIX (KPHO/Gray News) – A woman has been arrested after police say she killed a rideshare driver by running him over Tuesday evening.
Authorities say it happened in the Phoenix area on 40th Street north of Baseline Road.
When police got to the scene, they found 31-year-old Jordan Spalding in the driver’s seat of a vehicle stopped next to a canal.
Officers said they also found a man, 74-year-old Samuel Webster, lying on the ground with obvious injuries. He was taken to the hospital but later died.
Detectives determined Webster was a rideshare driver who gave Spalding a ride, and they got into a fight.
Witnesses told officers they saw the vehicle stop near the canal, and Webster and Spalding got out.
Spalding then got into the driver’s seat and drove the vehicle over Webster multiple times, police said.
Spalding was arrested and booked into jail on a second-degree murder charge.
