The Traitors’ star Freddie Fraser has taken to Instagram to deliver a fiery message after Charlotte’s brutal betrayal led to his sudden exit last night.
The 20-year-old politics student, who was the youngest contestant on the BBC show’s history, was banished at the Round Table yesterday evening with a full vote count against him after he got entangled in a web of lies following Charlotte’s sneaky game plan to set him up.
Freddie, who had been a Faithful for the entire show, was recruited as a Traitor for just 24 hours before being found out, and narrowly missed out on a place in tonight’s highly anticipated finale.
Taking to Instagram after his exit was aired last night, the BBC star uploaded a lengthy message with a fair few digs at Charlotte as he confirmed he is now ‘rooting for the Faithfuls’.
After thanking the nation for their continued support over the past three weeks, Freddie reflected on his tumultuous journey on the show.
He wrote: “To make it this far after being framed three times. I think I can say I did myself some justice. The short day of being a Traitor I absolutely hated and as you can see clearly cracked under the pressure.
“After forming so many strong bonds with this wonderful group of people, I physically could not bring myself to lie to them – let alone steal the money from them in the end! Maybe I am naive for seeing the good in people but that’s what I will always do and and I wouldn’t change my outlook on life at all.”
He added: I think it’s quite poetic actually that the sisterhood recruited a man just to throw them under the bus – a big (middle finger emoji) to the patriarchy.
“Whilst I didn’t get the win, I have come away with something a lot more precious: a second family that’s bonds are super strong and that to me is worth way more than the money!”
He concluded the post: “To all the remaining contestants good luck and I’m rooting for the Faithfuls (bring it home!!!) and mum I hope I made you proud. From the most faithful traitor, Freddie xx”
Freddie also gave special shout outs to finalists Frankie, who he said he was like a second mother to him, and Leanne, who he branded his best friend in the show.
The student met his end in the castle just hours after Charlotte gave him a face-to-face ultimatum of joining her as a Traitor or being murdered on the spot.
Freddie, who said he felt like he had “no choice”, accepted her offer to join her in the tower, unknowingly sealing his fate as Charlotte already had a plan to set him up.
As the pair chose who to murder together, Charlotte was keen to target Leanne, knowing that the ex-soldier had a shield to protect her from death, which was something Leanne had deliberately kept from Freddie and Alexander.
It was not until the following morning at breakfast that Freddie realised he had been betrayed as Leanne showed up with her shield, making both him and Alexander look guilty as the only ones who didn’t know she had it.
Freddie unfortunately messed up trying to save himself after he told Leanne he had known about her shield because Minah informed him before she left, which the other Faithfuls immediately recognised as a lie.
After realising he had sealed his fate, Freddie’s final act of defiance saw him vote for Charlotte at the round table, in the hopes that the Faithfuls would question this move after his exit.
Charlotte is now the only remaining Traitor but will the remaining Faithful Leanne, Jake, Francesca and Alexander work out it’s her?
Viewers were left on a cliffhanger last night after Francesca was given the ‘seer’ and chose Charlotte to identify her true Faithful or Traitor status to her in a private chat, but fans will need to tune in tonight to find out how it all unfolds.
The Traitors finale will air tonight on January 24 at 8:30pm on BBC One and BBC iPlayer.
