BLANCO COUNTY, Texas — A Central Texas man has been sentenced to prison and fined for multiple instances of sexual abuse that spanned across decades.
Daneil Mathew Bible, also known as Mathew Bible, was sentenced to 40 years in prison and fined $20,000 after he was found guilty of two counts of indecency with a child by sexual contact.
Bible was a resident of Kendall County when he was charged, but had previously lived in Blanco County when the initial incident was reported.
Bible was charged for an incident in 2011 when he touched the breasts and genitals of a young girl in first grade. She was 16 years old when she told her friend what happened, which eventually led to an investigation by the Blanco Police Department.
During their investigation, police discovered three other people were abused by Bible in a span of 30 years. Two said they were abused by Bible over several years, while the third was 12 years old when she was abused by Bible in 1994. The first two victims were able to testify against Bible about their abuse; however, the third recently passed away before she was able to testify in court.
The jury took less than an hour to reach a guilty verdict and unanimously assessed the maximum prison time and fine to Bible for both counts. Bible will not be eligible for parole until he serves 20 years in prison, when he’ll be at least 70 years old.
