Lanarkshire garden centre Sandyholm has a new series of free workshops taking place throughout February, showcasing how to grow flowers and tomatoes.
Dobbies will run its popular hands-on Grow How sessions on February 1 and 5, while its Little Seedlings club for youngsters aged four to 10 will run on February 2 and during the school half-term break.
They add to the Crossford centre’s programme of events for the month ahead, which also includes its “paw-fect Valentine” event for dogs and their owners.
Grow How workshops take place at 10.30am and 3.30pm on Saturday, February 1, and Wednesday, February 5 – offering tips on how to grow and care for tomatoes, along with the chance to taste different varieties including Gardeners Delight, the centre’s top-selling tomato plant of 2024.
Little Seedlings on Sunday, February 2, will cover the same topic with fun and interactive games as well as learning how to grow tomatoes and how to help them thrive on windowsills, while flowers will be the focus of the school holiday club.
Dobbies plant buyer Nigel Lawton said: “There is something particularly rewarding about enjoying fruit and vegetables that have been grown at home and these workshops are designed to make the activity accessible to all.”
The free events are open to budding gardeners of all skill levels, and more details are available at www.dobbies.com/events
