In-demand Mathias Kvistgaarden has left the door open for a January exit from Brondby amid escalating interest from Celtic.

The Dane has been heavily linked with a move to the Premiership leaders in recent transfer windows with Parkhead scouts keeping tabs on the frontman this term – with who is also said to be attracting interest from Eintracht Frankfurt. But Celtic appear set ramp up their push to sign the 22-year-old before the winter window closes with Kyogo Furuhashi on the brink of a switch to Stade Rennes.

We understand Brondby are holding out for a lofty fee of around £13.5m to green light a departure for Kvistgaarden – who has netted 12 goals in 18 games so far this season. The Denmark U21 international has already made it clear that he feels he is ready to make a move elsewhere in Europe – but has stated his is attempting to tune out the escalating transfer noise.

Asked if he feels he can still focus on his future, the striker told 3 point: “Yes, I think I can. Of course, there is a lot you can read about and listen to, but I try to ignore it as much as possible and just concentrate on training here every day.”

Pressed on the possibility of a move to the Hoops, Kvistgaarden added: “In the end, as a player, I can’t really do anything except do the best I possibly can – whether it’s for one place or another. That’s the way it is.”
