The Scottish Highlands have been named among the most rejuvenating destinations in the world, according to a new study by travel insurance specialist AllClear.
The research highlights the transformative power of travel, revealing that the average traveler feels seven years younger than their actual age after a trip.
The study also identified other destinations offering significant rejuvenating effects, with the Greek Islands and Paris joining the Highlands as top choices for those seeking to feel revitalized and rejuvenated.
According to the survey of 2,000 travellers, the rugged and breathtaking landscapes of the Scottish Highlands are particularly revitalising, with visitors reporting they feel an impressive 8.9 years younger on average.
Close contenders are the Greek Islands, where the effect is 8.6 years, and Paris, where travellers reported feeling 7.9 years younger. On average, travellers reported feeling 7 years younger than their actual age.

The findings build on research published earlier this year by Edith Cowan University in Australia, which highlighted travel as a powerful antidote to premature ageing.
The study identified several contributing factors to this anti-ageing effect, including exposure to new surroundings, relaxation, physical activity, and avoiding health and safety risks that could have the opposite effect.
AllClear’s survey aims to pinpoint the destinations that enhance this rejuvenation most significantly. The top three locales, while different in their offerings, share common traits that the Edith Cowan study found impactful.
The Highlands offer a wealth of outdoor activities and pristine natural scenery. The Greek Islands provide opportunities for ultimate relaxation, and Paris enriches visitors with its vibrant culture and unique experiences.
