SAN ANTONIO — Seven police officers were shot by a now-deceased suspect during a shootout in a Stone Oak apartment complex.
Six of the seven have been released from the hospital, and all of them are expected to make full recoveries.
Now the officers have received some love from two NBA Hall of Famers.
SAPD posted a video to their social media of four-time NBA champion Shaquille O’Neal and former MVP Charles Barkley sending love to the officers who were shot in the shooting.

SAPD says Shaq and Barkley made personalized messages for each of the officers injured.
In the video posted, Shaq, who grew up in San Antonio, says that he appreciated the officer’s hard work and sacrifice they made.
“I can’t wait until you get back on your feet,” Shaq said in the video. “[…] I’m glad you’re still with us, brother. From one San Antonian to another, I love you.”
Charles Barkley, known for his choice words about San Antonio, also had praise for the officers.
“Thinking about you, praying for you, bless you and all your families,” Barkley said. “I know y’all got the toughest job in the world but me and Shaq got all the respect in the world for you.”
