The moment a sofa came flying down the road due to high winds from Storm Éowyn, has been caught on camera by a resident in stitches.
Footage shows the beige two seater gliding down a street in Govanhill, Glasgow, on January 24 as the central belt was battered by extreme weather resulting in a Red weather warning.
In the video taken by a neighbour from above, the furniture speeds down the middle of a road in the powerful gusts.
The hilarious clip racked up over 60,000 views and thousands of likes with people howling at the unusual clip.
Carolyn McPhee said: “How can the storm move big things but all my dogs toys are still where they left them in my garden, even my fence is gone.” Calvin Archibald joked: “The sofa from battlefield hardline is here.”
Anniepannie said: “Imagine trying to explain that to a car insurance company.” While Lewis Bryan Murphy added: “Aladdin has upgraded from a magic carpet to a magic couch.”
As the country moves out of the Red warning, an Amber warning remains in place for high winds until 9pm this evening with the public urged to stay at home due to closed roads and storm debris.
Conditions continue to be difficult and police advice remains that the public should continue to avoid travel during the adverse weather unless absolutely essential.
A large number of routes across the area remain closed or disrupted due to debris and fallen trees, which are causing significant issues.
Police Scotland continue to work closely alongside partners including emergency services, local authorities and health and social care to respond to Storm Éowyn.
