Firefighters raced to a blaze near a Scots train station after a tree fell on to overhead cables, due to high winds during Storm Éowyn
The cables went up in flames after being struck by a tree prompting an emergency response at Dunblane Train Station at around 2pm on January 24.
Shocking footage shows the ferocious orange flames engulfing the land next to the train tracks while sparks pop and fly due to the electrical flames.
Two engines fought the blaze and ensured the area was safe before leaving.
A Scottish Fire and Rescue Service spokesperson said: “We were alerted at 2pm on Friday, 24 January to reports a tree had fallen on overhead cables outside Dunblane Train Station on Stirling Road, Dunblane.”
They added: “Operations Control mobilised two fire appliances to the scene. Crews worked with partners to ensure the area was safe before leaving the scene.”
A rare red weather warning was in place across the Central Belt between 9am and 5pm on Friday January 24 sparking ScotRail to cancel all services and many shops to be closed.
Emergency services have been working tirelessly across the country responding to emergency calls as vehicles were hit by trees and other flying debris.
