Stirling’s Cowie Medical Centre’s roof was badly damaged in the storm as winds reached as high as 100mph on Friday.

Storm Eowyn has been battering the region with gale force winds since the early hours of Friday morning. By Friday afternoon the surgery, located in Burns Terrace, was pictured with large parts of what appeared to be its roof lying on the street below.

Elsewhere in Stirling, larger areas have been left without power – including Cowie, Deanston, Gargunnock, Thornhill, Kippen, Buchlyvie, Drymen, Balfron, Killearn, Blanefield, Aberfoyle, Blairdrummond, Callander and Dunblane.

The region’s roads and buildings have also taken a battering, including Causewayhead Road at Stirling Bridge where a tree has come down and damaged buildings in Darnley Street.

The A91 is closed between Manor Powis and Kirk Logie Roundabouts due to fallen power cables there.
