January has felt like it’s had upwards of 90 days – but for one woman, a delightful discovery at her local Tesco brought some much-needed cheer.
TikToker Erin couldn’t contain her excitement when she stumbled upon 1kg bags of Mini Eggs, exclaiming in a six-second video: “Life is worth living” thanks to the Easter confectionery.
However, not everyone shared her enthusiasm, with some TikTok users expressing shock at both the early appearance of the treat and its hefty price tag. A small bag was priced at £4.85, while the 1kg bag came with a £14 price point, prompting outrage among shoppers.
One person vented, “£1.40 for 100g of Mini Eggs is diabolical,” while another commented, “£14 is crazy, but no one is talking about how the regular bag is £5”. Another user recalled, “It was £9 a few years ago.”
One lucky individual revealed they get the eggs for free, writing: “£14 though – my dad can get them free because he’s a lorry driver and delivers to the Mini Eggs factory, so they just give him a few bags lol.”
Others joked about the temptation, with one saying: “I refuse to buy them because I’d literally eat the whole lot and then hate myself.”
However, a few voiced their opinions that it was “too early” for Easter treats as the celebration is still a couple of months away. This year, Easter Sunday in 2025 lands on April 20th.
So do you think it’s too early for the seasonal choccies? Or do you think it’s good we’re getting more time to enjoy them ahead of Easter?
