Raging Aberdeen punters slapped their crestfallen side with boos at the break AND the final whistle as their horrid run without a league win stretched to 13 after being pasted by St Mirrren.

Jimmy Thelin and his downtrodden side were spared no mercy by a furious Pittodrie as their 3-0 beatdown by the Buddies proved a microcosm of their disastrous run. From Storm Bert to Storm Eowyn – the Dons’ dreary run has stretched two national weather warnings, the winds of disenchantment are blowing a hoolie in the Granite City.

The defeat in Paisley back in November against the same opponent was viewed as a momentary hiccup but there appears nothing temporary about Aberdeen’s ongoing Premiership plight. Thelin and his team, packed with big money January signings, toiled mightily and were given both barrels by a fanbase who are seeing their patience tested to the max. From title contenders to 10 points off the relegation playoff spot – it has been a marked decline.

Toyosi Olusanyi opened the scoring and Mikael Mandron bagged a brace for St Mirren – his second in the 76th minute forced a mood change inside Pittodrie as it escalated from anger to outright fury. BBC commentator Billy Dodds confessed a series of fans had made for the exits long before the final whistle.

However, the anger was palpable among those who waited until the end to let the boss and players know their feelings.
