AUSTIN, Texas — A man will spend the rest of his life in prison after being convicted of murdering his girlfriend.
Edward Figueroa Jr., now 43, shot and killed 24-year-old Kathryn Lynn Gibson in the early morning hours on Aug. 13, 2022, while the two were arguing at their Leander home in the 1100 block of Snow Goose.
Figueroa fled the scene after the shooting but was located and arrested by the Leander Police Department later that morning and taken to the Williamson County Jail.
Police said Gibson was shot just once with a pistol.
