The nation’s favourite money guru was left star struck this weekend after bumping into the Traitors’ winners in London.
Martin Lewis met Leanne Quigley and Jake Brown on Saturday January 25, a day after the final of the popular BBC gameshow aired revealing the pair as winners.
The finance expert shared the picture on X formerly known as Twitter and wrote: “I say this with 100% faithfulness. I just walked past these two in Central London and asked if I could have a photo. They were lovely.”
He also clarified the TV contestants knew who he was and also asked for a picture, claiming they were “lovely.”
Social media users were delighted by the unusual crossover and hundreds reacted to the sweet photos which racked up thousands of likes. One user said: “Martin posting on a weekend. Must have been a special occasion.”
Veronica joked: “Did you tell them the best high-interest account to save their winnings in haha?!” Ali Green added: “Hope you have them good advice as to which bank account is paying the best interest to pay their winnings into.”
While Paul added: “Lovely people and well deserved winners. First series we’ve watched, it was brilliant and now we will go and watch the first two series.”
The series three winners of the reality show Traitors won a huge £94,600 between them as Faithful after a nail biting episode which saw changes to the previous season’s finals.
Once the pair split the money, another secret was revealed to end the series. It turns out Leanne does not in fact work at a salon like she told fellow contestants throughout the show. Much to Jake’s confusion, she said: “I’ve never touched a set of nails in my whole life. For the past 12 years I’ve served as a soldier in the British Army.”
