As someone who has struggled with dry skin most of her life, I have often struggled to find a moisturiser that keeps my skin hydrated all day long.
However, in late 2023, I came across CeraVe’s bestselling Moisturising Face and Body Cream that has quickly become a staple in my winter routine. Owing to its reputation, it has earned over 48,000 reviews on Amazon from other shoppers.
If, like me, you need a bit of a moisture boost anywhere as soon as the temperatures drop, then this “miracle” cream is for you. Recommended by dermatologists it literally “melts away dry skin” on your face, hands and entire body.

Even better, I noticed that a large 454g tub is now on offer on Amazon for just £13.60. Considering my 340g tub, which was still large, lasted me almost an entire year, even with daily use, I’d say this is a deal worth bagging while you can.
With its thicker texture, I found that this cream left the dry patches on my hands and knuckles instantly hydrated. Add on the fact that it is unscented, it didn’t cause issues with my seasonal dermatitis that can often flare up in ugly red patches along my hands.
Packed with three essential ceramides and skincare hero hyaluronic acid, it has been designed to deliver “instant” and “long lasting” hydration to the skin. Unlike others on the market, I found that this one didn’t just ‘sit’ on the top of my skin like a greasy barrier, but actually sunk down for moisturisation.
As it offers a protective barrier for your face and body, it ensures my skin never gets blotchy and sore throughout the cold winds. If you’re keen to try it, then it’s worth noting Amazon is the cheapest for my holy grail cream, as the same-size tub is £17.50 at Boots and £16.99 at Superdrug.
I am not the only loyal fan, as over 40,000 Amazon users have left CeraVe’s Moisturising Cream five-star reviews that have praised it as a “miracle cure” and a “holy grail” for dry, sensitive skin in the winter.
One shopper praised: “My skin was really suffering – I’d tried all the moisturisers and potions that I had at home- and I have plenty – but nothing had worked. I bought this and within a couple of days I’m back to normal! Miracle cure.”
A second shopper agreed: “Holy grail product. I will never use another product, this has changed my skin for good. No weird smell, non greasy, doesn’t clog pores or cause spots, absorbs quickly, leaves face baby soft and plump. Can be mixed with retinol safely, and can also be used all over the body. The tub will last a long time. Flawless.”
While someone else agreed: “Thick without being greasy or pore-clogging!! I use in the winter twice a day. I apply my sunscreen on top of it in the mornings and still not greasy. At night, I use with my tretinoin & I wake up to glowing skin. I’m obsessed!!”
Of course, not everyone found the formula suitable for them, as one disappointed shopper said: “I bought this for my face. However, my skin doesn’t feel like it has cream on it after like five minutes. I normally use E45 cream, which is actually better.”
You can purchase my winter staple the CeraVe Moisturising Cream (454g) for £13.60 on Amazon here.
Another cold weather favourite is Cetaphil’s Moisturising Cream that now costs £13.60, down from £17, for a 450g on Lookfantastic. Meanwhile, Boots’ Derma Care Daily Moisturising Cream is priced at an affordable £10.50 for 500ml.
