Netflix users can now enjoy a chilling horror film, which viewers warn is ‘not for the faint-hearted’.

The streaming giant has recently added the 2023 movie directed by renowned sci-fi filmmaker Brandon Cronenberg. The plot revolves around a couple who are enjoying an all-inclusive holiday until they are enticed away from the resort by a mysterious woman.

Their escapade quickly turns into a nightmare when they encounter the violent side of the resort. Following a shocking accident on the island, the couple find themselves facing a ‘zero tolerance policy for crime’ where they either face execution or pay to watch their own demise.

The film features Mia Goth, known for her acclaimed performances in the X horror film series, alongside Alexander Skarsgard and Cleopatra Coleman who portray the married couple lured by Goth’s character.

While the R-rated feature showcases the bloody violence expected from a thriller, it delves deeper than most into thought-provoking themes such as morality, class inequality, and corruption, reports Surrey Live.

Since its release two years ago, audiences have been singing praises about Cronenberg’s third offering. “Cronenberg is now going all-in for the cinema of nightmares, with a film that gets under the skin and itches, invades the brain and plays havoc with the synapses,” one review on Rotten Tomatoes applauded.

Another fan cautioned: “It’s most definitely not for those of weak constitutions – or faint hearts – but it’s also not a movie, once seen, you can easily forget.”

One impressed viewer praised the film’s enduring effect, stating: “There are movies that leave you wondering what exactly you watched and may even be unsettling. Enter, Infinity Pool.

“Violent, gory, hedonistic, and scary. This is a movie that explores abysmal depths wealthy people will go for fun which in the case of this film, is torture – both physical but more importantly, psychological. You won’t see another film like it.”

Another cinema-goer added: “Infinity Pool is intense, nightmarish, overwhelming and, most troubling of all, pretty sexy.”

Infinity Pool is now on Netflix.
