Kids are set to head back to the classroom tomorrow after schools were closed on Friday amid the threat of Storm Éowyn.
A red alert was issued on Thursday with education bosses forced to close schools on safety grounds as winds of up to 100mph swept into the country.
East Ayrshire Council education chiefs say all schools and nurseries are expected to reopen tomorrow.
However, Loudoun Academy and Sorn Primary are currently without power – an issue that’s expected to be resolved later today.
A statement from the local authority to parents hinted that there may be ‘further issues that arise’ between this afternoon and tomorrow morning.
A statement issued to parents reads: “We wish to provide an update on the opening of schools and early childhood centres on Monday 27th January.
“We expect to open all schools and early childhood centres tomorrow. Currently Loudoun Academy and Sorn Primary are without power but we are hopeful that power will be restored later today.
“All other schools/ECCs are expected to open, but there may be further issues that arise as today progresses and into tomorrow morning.
“Further updates will be posted on social media and website and also via school apps.”
An update from Loudoun Academy Parent Council added: “As you may be aware, Loudoun Academy is still without power.
“We are waiting to hear if the school will be able to open tomorrow if power can be restored. We will post any updates as soon as we can.”
