Fans of Virgin River have been hotly debating a crucial scene in the final episode of season six that could leave a key character utterly broke.

In the most recent instalment of the popular Netflix show, Dan Brady (portrayed by Benjamin Hollingsworth) has been romantically involved with Lark (Elise Gatien), oblivious to the fact that she’s part of a con with local crook Jimmy (Ian Tracey).

Yet, as the plot thickens, Lark seems to develop genuine feelings for Brady at least that’s what she professes and vows to abandon the con when confronted by him. This changes abruptly when she eavesdrops on a revealing chat between Brady and his former flame Brie Sheridan (Zibby Allen).

Despite both having moved on to new relationships – Brie’s latest love interest Mike (Marco Grazzini) even proposes in the season finale – they succumbed to a moment of weakness earlier in the series and slept together, later declaring their love at Mel Monroe (Alexandra Breckenridge) and Jack Sheridan’s (Martin Henderson) nuptials.

Following this revelation, Lark decides to ditch Brady, emptying his bank account in the process. But viewers are questioning whether this twist is plausible, reports the Mirror US.

A fan voiced their scepticism on Reddit, pointing out some significant inconsistencies in Lark’s last-minute revenge against her cheating partner.

“In the last episode, Lark steals all of Brady’s money. It’s completely ridiculous the way they portray it,” the viewer argued.

“Bank apps always require you to authenticate, usually with something like FaceID, which Lark wouldn’t have.”

They continued their critique, stating: “Even if Brady’s bank and/or phone had terrible security, bank transfers take days to complete. Just call the bank and say it was a fraudulent transfer. It was the weekend; nothing is happening until Monday anyway.”

Questioning the feasibility of rapid financial transactions, they added: “Let’s say she wanted to do a wire transfer. Has anyone tried to do that?

“If you’re a regular person, then wire transfers are an absolute pain and take a bunch of upfront work. And even wire transfers take time to complete.”

In conclusion, they asserted firmly: “If Brady had a pile of cash or BitCoin or something, it would have been possible. You can’t just clean someone out electronically instantly in real life.”

Despite Virgin River’s portrayal of drama, crime, and betrayals within about a year that are meant to reflect a semblance of reality, many fans agreed that Lark hacking into Brady’s account and draining all his savings within minutes was too far-fetched.

“And you cannot make a bank transfer of all the money in the account,” another fan remarked, incorporating a rolling-eyes emoji to express disbelief over the excessive amount transferrable at once.

One fan suggested indifference towards the plot hole: “Yea I was willing to look past it. Maybe she saw his passcode or maybe he’s sent her money. Idk. I just really hate Lark so I’m trying to justify it.”

The series may provide a more comprehensive explanation when it comes back for its seventh season, but currently, Virgin River fans are left puzzled.
