MANOR, Texas — A shooter is on the run following a deadly shooting in Manor.

On Friday, Austin police were called to the area of Wildhorse Ranch Trail near State Highway 130 after reports that a vehicle was shot at.

When officers arrived, they found a car in a ditch and two people with gunshot wounds. Police said 19-year-old Victor Ekozeme was pronounced dead at the scene. The other person was taken to the hospital and released the same day.

During their investigation, police learned that Ekozeme and another person arrived at a nearby apartment complex when someone started shooting into their car, hitting Ekozeme and another passenger.

After being shot, Ekozeme tried to drive away from the complex before he lost control of the vehicle and crashed into a ditch. The suspects left the scene in a different vehicle and have not been captured at this time.

Police said they believe Ekozeme and his passenger may have been targeted in the shooting and consider the incident to be isolated.
