A family’s car burst into flames as they drove their children to school in Fife.
Emergency services were called to Fluthers Car Park, Cupar, on Monday morning.
Two fire engines were dispatched to the scene to extinguish the blaze.
Images taken from the scene show the abandoned car engulfed in flames in a car park. Huge plumes of black smoke can be seen billowing up into the air.
The owner of the car said: “It was me and Mrs taking kids to school. Got out just in time. Went up so quick.”
No one was injured in the fire.
The cause of the blaze is unknown.
A Scottish Fire and Rescue Service spokesperson said: “We were alerted at 8.53am on Monday, January 27 to reports of a car on fire at Fluthers Car Park, East Burnside, Cupar, Fife.
“Operations Control mobilised two fire appliances and firefighters extinguished a fire affecting one vehicle.
“There were no reported casualties and crews left after ensuring the area was made safe.”
