WASHINGTON — While you’ve always been able to watch the Super Bowl on TV for free with an antenna, this year there’s even a streaming option that is completely free – no cable package, subscription or 7-day trial required.
It was recently announced that Fox’s Super Bowl Sunday broadcasts would be available on Tubi, a free, ad-supported streaming service, that it also owns.
Streaming the Super Bowl would usually still require having either a cable subscription or paid-subscription to a service like Hulu + Live TV, YouTube TV or Fubo.
But the Tubi broadcast will be 100% free, all that’s required is to register for an account (no free 7-day trial as a work around needed this time). Then, download the Tubi app or visit the website on Sunday, Feb. 9 to watch Fox’s Super Bowl LIX stream live in 4K as the Kansas City Chiefs face the Philadelphia Eagles. The app works on most smart TVs, mobile devices and streaming sticks.
Tubi will kick things off with a pre-show called TubiRed Carpet at Super Bowl LIX, hosted by model and actress Olivia Culpo, starting at 3:30 p.m. Eastern.
And in case you were worried about missing out on the Super Bowl ads, Tubi explains on its website that the ads seen on its stream will be the same one as the typical TV broadcast.
What channel is the Super Bowl on?
Super Bowl LIX (Super Bowl 59) will air live Sunday, Feb. 9 on FOX, FOX Deportes, Tubi, Telemundo and across NFL digital properties with unauthenticated access across devices.
If you have an over-the-air antenna, your TV should get FOX.
Will the Super Bowl be streamed in Spanish?
Yes, Tubi plans to also offer the Super Bowl broadcast in Spanish for free through the Fox Deportes live stream.
