Similar operations were also held in Austin, McAllen, San Antonio and Houston.

DALLAS — U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) arrested 84 people across North Texas on Sunday during immigration enforcement operations, the agency confirmed.

According to a spokesperson for ICE’s Dallas Field Office, arrests were made in cities across the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex, including Dallas, Arlington, Fort Worth, Irving, Garland, and Collin County.

The spokesperson said those taken into custody were arrested for various reasons, including drug charges or overstaying. All detainees will go through processing at the Dallas ICE Field Office before facing potential deportation, the spokesperson said.

Just a few hours away, WFAA’s sister station KVUE reported that ICE conducted similar enforcement operations in Austin, McAllen, San Antonio, and the Houston area.

The actions follow President Donald Trump’s efforts to crack down on illegal immigration and accelerate deportations. Shortly after his inauguration, Trump revoked a directive that had previously barred immigration arrests in “sensitive” locations, including churches and schools, as part of his broader immigration enforcement strategy.

While officials have highlighted the focus on public safety, these immigration enforcement operations have sparked concerns among immigrant rights groups. On Sunday, hundreds of protestors gathered in Dallas and Fort Worth to voice their frustrations with Trump’s immigration-related executive orders.

According to a post on ICE’s X account, the agency tallied a total of 956 arrests across the country on Sunday.
