Corrie star Jack P. Shepherd opened up on how he’s spent thousands of pounds that he was left by a fan in their will.
David Platt actor Jack previously shared the news that he’d been written into the will and testament of the stranger.
Back in 2018, the Cobbles favourite told of the £5,000 he’d been left by the superfan – a postman from New Zealand. During an Instagram QandA with Julia Goulding, who plays David’s wife Shona on Corrie, he said: “(He) gave me five grand in their will. From New Zealand, a fan. Died, and gave me 10 per cent of his estate, which was five grand. So cheers.”
Chatting to Coronation Street co-star Ben Price and soon to be exiting Colson Smith, it was revealed that Jack spent the money on an impromptu trip abroad with his family to Florida.
Jack’s on-screen brother Ben shared how he reacted to the news at the time: “I was convinced that it was a scam and I said ‘that’s a scam, you’re getting f*****g scammed, I hope you’re getting scammed because I’ll be so f****d off if you’re not’ “.
Jack, 37, first appeared on the ITV soap at the age of just 12, playing the role of David Platt, Gail Plat’s second eldest son, as writes Lancs Live.

Meanwhile, Coronation Street has been hit by a wave of departures recently, with several fan-favourite characters set to say goodbye to the ITV soap.
Sue Cleaver, Colsdon Smith, Charlotte Jordan and Paddy Bever have all announced their exits from the famous cobbles. This has sparked rumours about who might be next to leave, with bookies pinpointing one Coronation Street resident as the most likely to go.
In other news, Helen Flanagan is the 4/7 favourite to make her much-anticipated return as Rosie Webster in 2025, with fellow actress Brooke Vincent, who portrayed Sophie Webster, expected to follow suit, with odds currently at 5/6.
