ITV’s Lorraine Kelly has issued a 3-word message to Wynne Evans over a sexual comment he made to Strictly co-star Janette Manrara.

Wynne was seen making a sexualised remark to Janette during the Strictly Come Dancing live tour launch in Birmingham earlier this month.

During Monday’s (January 27) edition of Lorraine, the host commented on Wynne’s behaviour, bluntly saying: “Do better, mate.”

Lorraine added: “The former opera singer has been in the headlines, though, after being overheard making a crude sexual remark towards It Takes Two presenter Janette during a photocall. I shan’t say what he said, suffice to say, it’s really not on.”

“My language was inappropriate and unacceptable, for which I sincerely apologise,” Wynne has since said in a statement.

A spokesperson for the Strictly Live Tour and BBC Studios added: “We have made it very clear to Wynne that we do not tolerate such behaviour on the tour.”

“We were not previously aware of the remark and did not receive any complaints,” the spokesperson added.

Wynne competed in last year’s series of Strictly Come Dancing with professional partner Katya Jones. The pair came in eighth place.

The duo previously attracted attention from viewers when Katya appeared to turn down a high-five from Wynne during an episode of Strictly in October. Wynne was also seen placing his hand on Katya’s waist, with the scenes quickly going viral on social media.

Katya later denied feeling “uncomfortable or offended in any way”, with Wynne sharing how “heartbroken” he felt after reading negative comments online.

Wynne is currently taking part in the Strictly Come Dancing series tour across the UK, alongside Jamie Borthwick, Tasha Ghouri, JB Gill, Montell Douglas, Sarah Hadland and Shayne Ward.

It Takes Two’s Janette is hosting the event, with judges Shirley Ballas, Anton Du Beke, Craig Revel Horwood and Motsi Mabuse also taking part.

Lorraine airs weekdays on ITV1 at 9am
