Kallithea have launched a bid to land Aberdeen’s James McGarry.

Reports in Greece claim the Super League side have made a move for the New Zealand international. They want the left-back to bolster the Athens-based side’s bid to maintain their top-flight survival.

McGarry has come into the team under Jimmy Thelin in recent weeks but has fallen down the pecking order with the signing of Alexander Jensen coming in and Jack MacKenzie coming back from injury.

The 26-year-old was signed by Barry Robson from Central Coast Mariners back in 2023. McGarry has been unlucky for injury and had to bide his time to get into Thelin’s stuttering side.

He has made five starts for the Dons in recent weeks but Jensen stepped into the left-back slot against St Mirren at the weekend. McGarry still has another 18 months left on his Pittodrie contract. Aberdeen are still looking to strengthen their own squad before the close of the window.
