A man has been arrested at a Scots shopping precinct after he was allegedly caught with a knife, cocaine and £190 in cash.

Police said they observed what was believed to have been a drug deal from a parked car in Greenhills Square in East Kilbride at around 9pm on Saturday, January 25.

Officers searched the car and it is claimed four snap bags of cocaine, a knife and £190 in cash was discovered.

A 37-year-old man was arrested in connection with the incident, but was later released. A report will be sent to the procurator fiscal.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “About 9pm on Saturday, January 25, plain clothed officers observed what appeared to be a drug deal from a parked car in Greenhill Square, East Kilbride.

“Officers approached and carried out a search of the car and the 37-year-old male driver. Officers seized four snap bags of cocaine, £190 in cash and a knife.

“The male was arrested and taken to a police station where he was later released. A report will be submitted to the procurator fiscal.”
