New York City will finally warm up a bit after days of Arctic onslaught, with temperatures hitting 40 midweek, meteorologists predicted.

Though not warm by any stretch, the relatively balmy temps would be a welcome break from last week’s deep freeze.

“Certainly more mild than it has been,” National Weather Service meteorologist John Cristantello told the Daily News. “Tomorrow probably we’ll have temperatures well into the thirties, if not around forty degrees.”

Tuesday would be in the upper 30s, while Wednesday could hit the mid-40s, he said. Thursday would see a cooldown, “but nothing as harsh as we’ve seen recently,” he added.

Friday it would bump back into the lower 40s, though there would be a chance of light snow after midnight, the NWS said.

While not exactly spring weather, it’s a far cry from the winter storm and arctic blast that jammed ground transport and grounded flights across New York City, and would make December’s teen temps but a distant memory.

Precipitation will be at a minimum through the end of the month, NBC News pointed out, with January being the driest seen since the 1860s, when record-keeping began.
