Wrestlers from all over Scotland are set to put on some gripping entertainment in Perth in the coming months.
For the past five years Fair City Wrestling (FCW) have been putting on matches at the city’s Tulloch Institute.
This year’s big events include Nae Mercy on March 28 and Fair City Rumble on November 21.
The first Tulloch Institute championship show of 2025 takes place on Friday January 31.
Several Perth wrestlers are involved in the events including Chris Scott (who wrestles as Samuel in Red Gate), Marc Hunter (or Marcus “The Glory” Hunter) and Tom Humphreys (Tom Atlas).
Kevin Purdie of Fair City Wrestling said: “Nae Mercy is our first supershow of the year, championships will be on the line and long term rivalries will come to an end.
“The Fair City Rumble is an other special event – 30 of Scotland’s top wrestlers will battle in a match that will see them try and eliminate each other by throwing their opponents over the top rope.
“The winner receives our Game Changer briefcase – this allows the holder to challenge the FCW Champion at any time they choose.”
Fair City Wrestling has been on the go since October 2019.
Kevin – who wrestled as Kevin Williams – said: “John Young, the owner of Fair City Wrestling, had experience in live events and asked me to run the wrestling side of things as I have 20 years of experience.
“I have wrestled all over the UK and been over in Europe on more than one occasion.
“We set up Fair City Wrestling and Dundee and Angus Pro Wrestling which includes our training facility where most of our home grown talent have been cultivated and now performs on a monthly basis in either Perth or Dundee.
“Myself and John Young had been involved in separate wrestling promotions for a great number of years and we wanted a place where people from all over Scotland could get a better opportunity to showcase their skills in front of more people.”
The new season of monthly matches starts at the Tulloch Institute on Friday, January 31 when championships will be defended.
Mr Purdie said: “We have provided family friendly entertainment almost every month for the past five years.
“We have families of fans who have come along every show during those five years.
“They bring signs they make at home, they cheer for their favourites and make our events part of their month which we cannot thank them enough for.”
