
PRINCETON, W.Va. – The Mercer County Prosecuting Attorney said a 39-year-old man from Princeton was sentenced for stealing power from AEP.
The Prosecuting Attorney said in a press release that Jesse Ray Counts pled guilty in Nov. 2024, and that Counts had been stealing power from AEP for over four years and destroyed company property during the process.
Counts was sentenced to 3-30 years in prison on two counts of Grand Larceny and one count of felony Destruction of Property.
Counts also has to pay over $19,000 in restitution.
