Manchester United boss Ruben Amorim has astonishingly claimed he would rather play his GOALIE coach than Marcus Rashford.

Unsettled Rashford, 27, hasn’t featured in 11 games and was bombed out again yesterday as United laboured to a 1-0 win at Fulham. The wantaway striker is a target for Borussia Dortmund and Barcelona before next week’s transfer deadline and talks are ongoing over a loan move. Amorim hasn’t picked Rashford since December 12, blaming the England international’s poor attitude in training.

And the Portuguese manager is refusing to back down from his hardline stance, making it clear he’d start 63-year-old Jorge Vital before the out-of-favour £315k-a-week star as things stand. When probed about Rashford’s ongoing absence from the squad, he said: “It’s always the same reason. The reason is the training.

“The way I see what a footballer should do in training, in life, every day. If things don’t change, I will not change. You can see it today on the bench. We needed a little bit of pace to change the game to move some pieces, but I prefer it like that. I will put Vital on before I put a player that doesn’t give the maximum. I will not change in that department.”

Quizzed on whether the situation will change if Rashford is still at Old Trafford after the window closes, he added: “It’s the same situation for every player. If you do the maximum, if you do the right things, we can use every player.’
