Once you’ve had an electric toothbrush, it’s tough to go back to a manual one. Despite their benefits, there are a couple of key issues that might bother you about them. Firstly, they’re difficult to recycle, and that goes for their replaceable heads too. Secondly, keeping them clean can be a pain, especially if you’re off travelling.

Enter the SURI Electric Toothbrush with UV cleaning case for £68.64 down from £95 at Amazon. You can get the toothbrush on its own for £54.19 down from £75, too. They’re both available in five colours, including sea mist, midnight black, morning waves, sunset bloom, and winter fern.

The SURI is half the size of a typical electric toothbrush but doesn’t scrimp on power: its sonic buzz vibrates over 33,000 times a minute to dislodge and bat away plaque and other toothy detritus.

It steals a march on other electric toothbrushes when it comes to sustainability, too, with recyclable, plant-based heads and bristles. SURI runs its own recycling service for them, and it’s free to use. If you’re in any doubt about its green credentials, it’s got a seal of approval from clean-living icon Gwyneth Paltrow, according to the Mirror.

That’s not all — you’ll be blown away by its battery life. The SURI will run for a full 40 days from a full charge, and it only takes four hours to go from zero to 100%. The UV travel case is worth springing for as well, with UV-C tech that will sterilise your toothbrush in just one minute.

Gwyneth is certainly not alone in loving this toothbrush, with 1,431 Amazon customers awarding an average of 4.3 out of 5 stars so far.

“The Siri toothbrush is, hands down, the best toothbrush I’ve ever owned,” raved one five-star appraisal. “From the moment I unboxed it, I was struck by its sleek black design—modern, minimalist, and absolutely premium. The build quality is exceptional, with a solid feel that inspires confidence it will last for years.”

“With my old toothbrush, I never took it with me on trips because it and the case was too heavy and bulky and I needed to take the charger,” said another five-star review. “The SURI is so neat and tidy with a long charge, and I can pack it into my tote no problem. Last but by no means least, it is apparently sustainable. Hurrah!”

Another added: “I couldn’t be happier with my SURI toothbrush! From the moment it arrived, I was impressed with the packaging — it feels like a true luxury product. The colour variations are a beautiful touch, adding a personal and stylish element.”

Some customers have raised concerns over its power output, however. “The actual strength of the sonic function really isn’t enough,” said a three-star review. “I don’t think I’m exaggerating when I say it takes twice as long to get the same results as the Sonicare I’m used to. It just doesn’t have the power for that “dentist clean” feel, even on the polish setting.”

Another said: “I have ended up going back to Oral B. It gives a much better clean and is better for my sensitive teeth.”

Elsewhere, the aforemention Philips Sonicare is a great option that’s down to just £49.99 at Boots. For a massive bargain, check out the Oral B Pro Series 1 Black & Pink Duo Toothbrushes for £55 down from £110 at Debenhams.

But, for a sustainably-made and recyclable toothbrush that packs a punch, the SURI Electric Toothbrush is well worth considering at just £68.64.
