Four Stirling primary schools remain closed today after the region was battered by Storm Eowyn last week as some of properties still remain without power.
Stirling Council says that Borestone Primary, Bridge of Allan Primary and Fintry Primary and nurseries continue to be impacted by the damage. They will be impacted until the buildings are safe.
Additionally, Crianlarich Primary is also closed today (Monday) due to a heating issue and is not related to last week’s storm.
All other schools and nurseries re-opened as normal on Monday.
Stirling Council took the decision to close all of its schools and council-run buildings on Friday as Storm Eowyn brought winds up to 100mph, causing damage and power outage across much of Stirling and forcing key roads to close.
The Met Office issued a rare red weather warning for “very high winds” which presented a threat to life for much of Friday.
Since the storm passed, safety inspections have been carried out across council buildings and facilities over the weekend to assess storm damage.

In Fallin, The Alpha Centre will stay closed this week due to storm damage it suffered. Customers with bookings will be contacted.
Balfron Library will also be closed today.
Cowie Medical Centre saw material from its roof partially blow off. However, NHS Forth Valley have today (Monday) confirmed that some of its buildings suffered “some superficial damage” to roofs and windows but services today are unaffected.

Over the weekend, the council resumed its bin collections, which had been temporarily halted during the storm.
