The third season of The Traitors finished up last week, with team Faithful Leanne Quigley and Jake Brown winning the shared prize pot of £94k, but other members of the BBC cast are still continuing to surprise fans with unexpected information about their personal lives.

While Charlotte kept up her fake Welsh accent throughout the show and Leanne lied about her false nail tech profession, Minah Shannon has now shocked Scottish fans after revealing she is not actually from Liverpool and previously went to school in Glasgow.

Minah, who was a strong fan favourite to win until she was caught out as a Traitor in the final week, has revealed her surprising Scottish connection in a new interview on the BBC’s radio programme Newsbeat.

The 29-year-old call centre manager said: “I say I’m from Liverpool because my friends say I’m an adopted Scouser but I’m not actually from Liverpool but I’m not having anyone say I’m not Scouse.”

She added: “I’ve gone to school in Uganda, I’ve gone to school in Glasgow, I’ve gone to school in Birmingham. Liverpool is the longest place I’ve ever lived in. I can’t believe you’re the first person I’ve told that.”

Minah, who lives in Crosby with her husband, Lee, and two-year-old daughter, Luna, revealed to the Liverpool ECHO that she lived in Uganda when she was very young and then moved to Glasgow for around five years, until she was 12.

The BBC star said she didn’t make the move to Liverpool until she was 18, adding: “I met my husband in Liverpool, I had my little girl in Liverpool and I think the friendships I’ve made in Liverpool have made me who I am as a 30-year-old now. So I’ll always say I’m Scouse regardless of what anyone says.”

Minah was banished from the Scots castle on the BBC show just days before the final after a Round Table vote saw the Faithful and her fellow Traitor Charlotte eliminate her.

However, things didn’t work out for Charlotte either after Frankie’s ‘seer’ power forced Charlotte to reveal her true identity and the Faithful chose to believe she was a Traitor.

The nail-biting finale saw Charlotte leave the game with four Faithful remaining which was unknown to the group. Due to remaining doubts, Frankie and Alexander were voted out by Leanne and Jake, who both went on to win the grand £94,6000 cash prize.
