Mourners such as Steps singer Ian “H” Watkins and TV icon Kim Woodburn have started gathering for the funeral of Drag Race UK legend The Vivienne.
James Lee Williams, known by their stage name The Vivienne and beloved for their incredible talent and contribution to the LGBTQ+ community, tragically passed away at the age of 32.
The service is taking place at a church in Denbighshire, north Wales. Among the attendees were Watkins, distinctly dressed in a red tartan suit, alongside comedian Jayde Adams, striking in a bright green coat and trilby hat, joining others in paying their respects.
As The Vivienne, Williams secured victory on the inaugural series of RuPaul’s Drag Race UK and achieved an impressive third place in ITV’s Dancing On Ice last year.
In addition, The Vivienne shined in the all-winners season of the RuPaul franchise in the US in 2022, as the sole UK representative, starred in BBC Three’s The Vivienne Takes On Hollywood in 2020, and participated in Channel 4’s Celebrity Hunted For Stand Up To Cancer in 2022.
A native of Wales, Williams was famously associated with iconic fashion designer Vivienne Westwood, which influenced their drag persona.
