DAMASCUS, Va. (WDBJ) – Vice President JD Vance will return to Damascus Monday, January 27.

Vance says the purpose of his visit is to check on the cleanup from Hurricane Helene.

“We live in the greatest country in the world. When disaster strikes, Americans ought to expect more out of their federal government.” Vance said in a post on X.

Vance is expected to meet with local leaders and Governor Glenn Youngkin early in the afternoon.

Vance previously visited Damascus in October 2024 to survey the damage from the storm.
